Decking

TimberTech® Advanced PVC Decking – Harvest, Landmark & Vintage Collection

Create a bold look with the dramatic, yet charming, TimberTech® Advanced PVC Collection.

The capped polymer decking features proprietary technology that delivers a sophisticated, wood-effect finish that you’ll never have to sand, stain, or seal.

Every board showcases characteristics found in nature, while boasting an industry-leading 50-year warranty and advanced performance technology that keeps your deck looking good for decades to come. TimberTech® Advanced PVC decking breaks all the rules when it comes to traditional decking options, such as being cooler to the touch on a hot day (vs composite decking) thanks to its low thermal conductivity.

The core is made from recycled PVC and the outer cap is made from virgin PVC, giving unrivalled resistance to scratches, dirt and mould. Additionally, TimberTech® Advanced PVC decking is highly resistant to moisture damage, such as mould and mildew, and it won’t splinter, crack, warp, peel, or rot.

All TimberTech® Advanced PVC decking is available in either 4.8m or 6m boards.

  • Harvest boards are 185 x 24mm available in Slate Grey.

  • Landmark boards are 140 x 25mm available in three stylish colours – Boardwalk, Castle Gate and French White Oak.

  • Top-of-the-range Vintage in Coastline comes in 140 x 25mm or 184 x 25mm boards.

Available at your local Mitre 10 store.

Fencing

Edgesmith Fencing – Fencing Finn Contour

Fencing Finn Contour’s architectural high-end balustrade and fence panel will enhance the aesthetic and functionality of your client’s outdoor settings, while being simple and convenient to install.

Quick and easy to set up, this panel fencing solution brings versatility to any area. The Finn Contour Panel is characterised by closely spaced vertical pickets. This creates a 3D effect to the fence, so that it appears more solid when viewed from an angle.

Cleverly designed for any landscape, the contour panel is unique in that it pivots to adjust its angle for stairs and hilly terrain – so no more having to buy separate raking panels. Posts blend seamlessly with the panels for a stylish, ‘post-less’ look.

The panels come in three sizes:

  • 1m x 1.2m: Deck Balustrading (PS1 available) or Landscape Fencing.

  • 1.2m x 1.2m: Retaining Wall Balustrading, Swimming Pool Fencing (PS1 available) or Landscape Fencing.

  • 1.8m x 1.8m: Landscape Fencing.

The panels and matching posts are made from powder-coated black aluminum, so they are lightweight and easy to manoeuvre, won’t rust, and will look good for years to come.

The 1.2m x 1.2m panel with matching flanged or inground post (2025701, 2025723 and 2025725) is being promoted at 20% off the RRP from 5th-25th September (while stocks last, not available in conjunction with any other discount). Ask instore for details.

Garden

These tips from Mitre 10’s garden centre experts cover various aspects of garden landscaping, from plant selection and design principles to practical considerations for maintenance and attracting native wildlife

  1. Understand the conditions

Knowing the garden's sunlight and wind patterns helps in choosing plants that thrive in those conditions, ensuring better growth and health.

  2. Plant in groups for impact

Planting large groups of the same plant creates visual impact and cohesion in your garden design.

  3. Plant natives for easy care

Native plants are adapted to the local environment, requiring less maintenance and watering once established.

  4. Plant to attract bees, birds and butterflies

Choose plants that attract pollinators to promote biodiversity and a healthy ecosystem in your client’s garden.

  5. Plant hedges instead of building fences

Hedges provide privacy, define spaces, and can act as windbreaks, while also offering aesthetic value and habitat for wildlife. Hedges can sometimes be planted in place of fencing or as a combination for visual impact.

  6. Plant feature trees

Feature trees add focal points, shade and height variation to your garden, enhancing its overall design.

  7. Plant herbs for the BBQ area

Growing herbs near the BBQ or entertainment area provides convenient access for cooking, adding fresh flavours to meals, and bringing natural fragrance to outdoor spaces.

  8. Plant for colour

Incorporate plants with vibrant flowers or foliage to add splashes of colour throughout your client’s garden, enhancing its visual appeal.

  9. Groundcover

Choose groundcover plants suited to your clients’ garden and climate conditions to create a textured carpet that suppresses weeds and reduces maintenance.

  10. Keep it simple

Start with a well-thought-out plan and use a minimalist approach to design your client’s garden, focusing on what they really want and ensuring easier maintenance over time.
