People pleaser

Onlandscapes took home the premier award for People's Choice for its Rugby Street residential project in Christchurch

This project required a full makeover, with only an existing maple tree and perimeter hedging to remain the same.

Onlandscapes installed an exposed concrete nib wall, “which was challenging to construct, as we had to remove the bracing while the concrete was still curling to finish the sides”, stated Onlandscapes’ submission.

The Rugby Street property included coloured concrete paths and steppers, which were acid etched to ensure the contemporary style matched the colonial appearance of the house. The paths were raised to meet a macrocarpa boardwalk, which leads a person gently to the rear of the property.

The effect is a stunning blend of modern and colonial – and some incredibly happy homeowners:

“We love it, it’s everything we wanted it to be. Onlandscapes was excellent to work with and a lot of fun!”

“It was a privilege to construct this project and an honour to work with such outstanding clients,” said Onlandscapes.
